Kingston KPEX-100 Cheat Sheet
Turn on and off
- Slide the Power button up to turn it on.
- When turning on, it goes through an intro screen until the
recording screen appears.
Start recording
- Plug audio cable into the Line In jack
- Make certain that it displays "MONO-###.MP3". If not, follow
the instructions below to change the recording settings.
- Click the red Record button in the middle once to
turn on the microphones or line-in.
- Click the red Record button a second time to start
recording. (The timer will start counting up.)
Stop recording
- Click the red Record button again to stop recording.
- Slide the Power button down to turn it off.
Copy audio files to a computer
- Make sure the Power button is in the off
position.
- Plug the USB cable from the USB connection into the
computer.
- The recording screen changes its display to:

- Click the red Record button, and the Zoom
recorder should connect to your computer as an external hard
drive. The recording screen changes its display to this:

- The mp3 files will probably be located in the FOLDER01
folder.
- Use your computer commands to copy
the from the Zoom recorder.
Changing the Recording Settings
- Our preferred recording settings are to record MONO MP3 files
with sound leveling turned on.
