Instructions for installing the software needed to create CDs for Good Shepherd can be found here.
If you don’t have it, download the full version of the service from the web site.
Visit the web page
http://podcast.lc-goodshepherd.info/?quality=128
Hold the shift key and click on the link for
yyyy-mm-dd-service-128.mp3
Save the file to a folder such as c:\service.
Use the program MP3splitter to split the high bit rate service into 3 minute pieces.
Open a Command Prompt window
cd c:\service
mp3split yyyy-mm-dd-service-128.mp3
The files will be named yyyy-mm-dd-service-128_01.mp3, *_02.mp3, *_03.mp3, etc.
Use a CD creator to generate a project from the split files, with a 0-second gap in between each file.
The 0-second gap is very important; it allows the audio to be listened to without annoying interruptions.
If there is enough room add the sermon to the CD, place yyyy-mm-dd-sermon-128.mp3 at the beginning of the CD before the service.
If the sermon is not at the beginning:
Listen to the CD and determine which track the sermon begins. (It’ll probably be around track 10 to 12.)
Make a note of the track number and how far into the track the sermon starts.
If the sermon starts more than 30 seconds into the track, split that track again:
Open a Command Prompt window
cd c:\service
mp3split –l mm:ss/5 yyyy-mm-dd-service-128_##.mp3
As an example, if you're splitting track 12, the new files will be named yyyy-mm-dd-service-128_12_01.mp3, and *_12_02.mp3.
Replace the track containing the sermon on your CD burning program with these new tracks.
Create 6 copies of the CD.
Write the words “Church Service” and the date of the service on each CD, along with which track the sermon begins. (Sermon begins on track ##.)
Take the CDs in to the church office by Wednesday.
